Assistant to Dog

Dog is back and must be touched. Twenty times every half an hour. Belly rub. Under front arm circle, circle. Turkey back leg squish and poke. Nose scratch, but not too close to wet part. Then repeat on other side.
“Stop if you don’t like it!” you say, but you don’t have to listen to the roaring thunder of disapproval. You don’t have to be lunged at every time you turn away, tired of the constant petting. Dog is so demanding. I think ‘needy’ in my head but I do not say it aloud because Dog is smart and Dog knows. I know Dog knows cause sometimes I say words like treat or park and Dog looks at me and roars thunder that scares me. I was only saying park in a story about a time long ago but Dog listens and Dog knows and now I have to go to park with Dog or else Dog will bite me and I will bleed again.
It’s not so so bad. It’s only one ‘so’. When it’s good, it’s double ‘so’ good. We laugh so much, Dog and me. We like to walk together and look at things.
When Dog is asleep, I use Dog’s belly to make my cold feet warm again. Sometimes I am so cold that my cold feet or hands wake up Dog while sleeping and Dog is upset. So I must quietly do flailing of my arms to make blood go to my hands and also make silent jumps and squats to make warm blood go to my feets.
Leave Dog? No, never! Sure Dog demands much, but so many other Dogs demand too! It’s not so so bad as I already said. I mean, I could have Cat. Oof, can you imagine?
